Raw and Rebellious: Candid chaos, sorority style

This was easily one of the most fun and free-flowing shoots I’ve done with Raw and Rebellious — and it totally captured the vibe we were going for. Sarah and I had been bouncing around ideas for her upcoming hat drop, and she showed me a campaign that really stuck with her. It was this chaotic, fun, mirror-shot style ad — girls doing their makeup, laughing, hyping each other up, and just existing in that real “getting ready” moment.

We knew immediately: that’s what this shoot needed to feel like.

So I reached out to a group of girls from KKG at CSU, and we set it up.

We shot in a bathroom with bright lighting, brought a speaker to keep the energy up, and just let the day unfold. I used a Pocket Dispo lens again to give the photos that raw, grungy, flash-heavy aesthetic that Sarah loves — something that feels like a film scan from your camera roll.

But the best part? I didn’t just shoot.

I directed and encouraged the girls to shoot each other — giving prompts, showing them how to hold the camera, and letting the candid chaos unfold. It wasn’t about staging perfection — it was about capturing moments that felt real. And that made all the difference.

Some video clips didn’t make the final campaign, but a ton of the photos did — and they speak for themselves. They feel like friends hanging out, throwing on hats, and just having a good time. It’s exactly what Sarah wanted the Raw and Rebellious Ski Club to represent.

I also loved being able to connect Sarah with a group of girls that actually fit her audience. I’m not sure if they’ll do more together down the line, but it felt like a perfect creative match.

One hundred percent a shoot I’d do again!
