Numbskull: X Games, hooting, and a little bit of hollerin
This video came together during one of the best work trips I’ve ever had. Mark (founder of Numbskull) invited me out to Aspen during the X Games — not just to watch the event, but to hang out, ride, talk creative, and get a feel for where the brand was heading. We stayed in an Airbnb together with some of the team, and it gave me a chance to get to know him and the Numbskull crew on a much deeper level.
One of the resorts we hit was A-Basin, since it was on the Ikon Pass and worked for everyone on the trip. The day was full of riding, trees, powder, and a group of absolute shredders. I knew I wanted to capture something cinematic but still in line with Numbskull’s identity — which, if you haven’t figured out by now, is all about not taking things too seriously.
So yeah… the video starts with me yelling for no reason. Because why not?
I handed off the GoPro for part of the day to one of the riders — I couldn’t keep up in the trees on my board — and we got some killer shots from their POV. Everything came together naturally, and it felt honest. Fun, raw, and full of energy.
I used a trending track at the time — Want to Love by Just Raw — which was super present in the Colorado EDM scene and especially popular with the younger ski crowd. It felt like the right vibe, and clearly it worked:

This piece really reinforced what we’d been building for the Numbskull brand — content that’s fun, current, and doesn’t try too hard. And as always, it was just a blast to make.
