LudLowLUXE: Designing a digital “welcome” for the desert

This was one of the first full websites I’ve built for a client — and definitely one of the most rewarding. LudlowLuxe.com is a simple, functional landing page for a personal Airbnb located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The goal was to make something guests could scan via a QR code as soon as they walked in the door. Especially for older guests, the client wanted a site that felt easy, welcoming, and intuitive — no digging through booking apps, just a direct way to access information and feel grounded in their stay.

I shot a video walkthrough of the home and worked in tandem with the property photographer to bring the visuals together. The house itself had a lot of personality — soft stucco tones, desert landscaping, cactus-lined views — so I leaned into that when designing the site. I used warm, earthy tones paired with clean formatting to mirror the aesthetic of the space: relaxed, natural, and subtly elevated.

The site came together in just a couple of days, but we’re not done. I’m currently in talks with the client about expanding it into a more dynamic hub: one where guests can browse local attractions, message the property manager directly, or even place small orders during their stay. Even as a base version, this was a valuable project. It pushed me to think like both a creative and a problem solver — how do you make a digital space feel like the home it represents?
